After Care
- Night of procedure and next few nights – sleep with head elevated 1-2 pillows behind head, place towel under head in case donor area oozes
- Sleep straight without turning to sides for 3 days.
- Spray NS every 1 – 2 hours on transplanted hair grafts for 48 hours
- Follow up after 48 hours for hair washing
- Shower and shampoo with Baby shampoo once a day with NS for 7 days, then wash with drinking water for 7 days, then with normal tap water (Gently without vigorous rubbing, then pour NS/ water softly and dab dry)
- No bending forward for 3 days
- Avoid alcohol and smoking for week
- Wear hat or cap in strong sunlight for 1 month
- After 1 month – can have haircut
- After 1 month – dye hair swim or sauna
- Can resume normal daily routine almost immediately
- Normal walking and routine physical activities can be started 2nd day following procedure
- Light exercise started from 7th day
- Avoid rubbing or direct pressure on scalp for 10 days
- Regular gym from 15 days
- Travel by air on 3rd day of surgery, don’t drive home yourself
- Return to work 4 to 5 days after surgery
- Normal food intake
